Tools

What you need and where.

Where do you need to have some sort of set of tools. Here's some thoughts:

  • On you. Lots of folks carry a leatherman or knife or mace or some other handy items on them

  • Your Home. Probably the most commonly acknowledged.

  • Your vehicle. Do you want to have something in each vehicle? I do.

  • Recreational toys. RVs, Boats, UTVs, ATVs etc

  • Cabin

  • Your work bag.

  • Your work.

Your Home

Have lots of tools. Know how to use them.

Your Vehicle!

There are some awesome rigs out there ready for the zombie apocolypse. Is that what you need? Maybe. Or maybe not. Again, what do you want to be ready for? stuck in snow? Stuck in heat? hostile area? remote area? Long duration? Short duration? Urban? Rural? Start with the territory you live in. Think of the hazards, make your plan for those threats first. On the tool front one big consideration is how much space do you have in the vehicle vs what you want to have with you. Probably hard to fit a blow molded case for each tool you want to carry but if that's your gig, sounds good. For me, I like a small tough canvas bag. It can fit "all" of the basic hand tools needed in a very small space. Fits under the seat.
